Step-by-Step Refresh Guide

Step 1: Prep the Wipes

Grab two wet wipes and give them a gentle twist – we want to say goodbye to any excess water! You're aiming for damp, not dripping. If they're too wet, the extra moisture can drip into your iron and cause problems. Too dry? They won't create enough steam. Get them just right – like a perfectly damp sponge.

Step 2: Set Your Iron to the Right Temperature

This step is super important! Set your flat iron to its lowest heat setting. We know it's tempting to crank up the heat, but patience pays off here.

For heat-resistant synthetic wigs , the safe zone is between 160°C–180°C (320°F–356°F) . If your wig isn't labeled as heat-resistant, do not use direct heat – stick to steam only!

Why so careful? Synthetic fibers are essentially plastic – too much heat will melt, kink, or permanently damage them. Think of this as a relaxing spa day for your wig, not an intense workout!

Step 3: Wrap & Hug

Now take those damp wipes and wrap them around the plates of your iron – one on each side. Press gently so they stick to the plates. Think of it as giving your iron a little moisture-hug! These wipes will create gentle steam as you glide through the hair, smoothing the fibers without direct heat damage.

Step 4: Glide Slowly and Steadily

This is where the magic happens! Working with small sections:

  1. Take your wide-tooth comb and lift a small section of hair (about 1–2 inches wide)

  2. Starting near the roots (but not too close to the cap!), place your wrapped iron around the hair

  3. Slowly glide the iron down the length of the hair – don't rush! A slow, steady motion gives the steam time to work its magic

  4. Watch as frizz smooths out, kinks disappear, and your wig regains its original style

Repeat this process section by section until you've covered the whole wig. Take your time – rushing leads to missed spots and uneven results.

You'll literally see the transformation happening right in front of you. It's like watching your wig come back to life!

Your wig is refreshed, smooth, and ready to shine!   Give it a final gentle shake and place it back on your wig stand to cool.

Pro tip: After refreshing, give your wig a light mist of wig spray or anti-static spray to keep it looking great longer.
